June 3, 2025 Peoria's elected City Council and Mayor will voted on a unethical and immoral $1,192,000,000 Budget.
With a 7-0 "Yes" vote on the budget Tuesday night, the People of Peoria will start a Recall of all elected officials in the City of Peoria to take our City back as they are failing to execute the will of the People. The Council has been hijacked by Jason Beck to do the will of Jason Beck.
"Governments derive their just powers by the consent of the governed" - Thomas Jefferson.
As passed, this budget will financially harm the People of the City of Peoria. The City Council is taking action without citizen's concerns that this budget will threaten the financial health and stability of the City of Peoria. This budget is an increase of 25% over last years budget (35% increase since Jason Beck has been Mayor). Similar cities, like Scottsdale, are implementing "fiscally cautious" budgets and are reducing spending (Scottsdale's current budget is 9.4% lower than 2023-2024 and 2025-2026 budget is an additional 3.8% lower than this years).
Mayor Jason Beck has dealt with many unpopular projects over the objections of the People in just 2 years in office.
- This budget will allow the City to add infrastructure to land it does not own. There is no guarantee the City of Peoria will win the bid from the Arizona State Trust after Peoria spends hundreds of millions of dollars to improve land it does not own. Land speculation with public money. Charles Keating and Lincoln Saving and Loan - anyone???
- Beck has defunded the Peoria Parks and stopped all funding at Paloma Park that would have expanded it to resemble Rio Vista with a building that benefited residents, children and seniors.
- Beck and his new Police Chief have lost 49 police officers in the last 12 months (4/1/2024 - 3/31/2025). The City lost 16 in 2021, 12 in 2022 and 11 in 2023 under a different Chief. The old Chief said at a LD28 meeting he left due to he was unable to lower his moral and ethical standards.
- Beck spent millions of dollars and thousands of staff hours on an airport that never took off and was hugely unpopular with the People.
- Beck lied about the cost of a helicopter, that caused a Police Chief to resign, and then hid the fact a second unneeded helicopter was in the plans. Scottsdale replaced their helicopters with drones as drones are more cost effective.
- Beck refuses to allow the City to release any information on a claimed $250,000 donation made by him and his wife to the Peoria Police Department. What is the donation, if it exists, and is it legal under City of Peoria code.
- Beck put an industrial chip plant inside Arizona's #1 master planned community of Vistancia over the objections of residents and lied about the size of what is now over a 2,000,000 sq ft. facility and as tall as a 12 story building. Now the City has moved it at a cost up to $100,000,000
It is time the People of Peoria take back our City.
